Tickets are delivered via email and can be presented on a mobile device for scanning at the zoo entrance. Tickets are valid for zoo admission on any day of your choosing during regular operating hours. Prices and hours are subject to change at any time. The zoo is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Free Admission
Yearly Members enjoy free zoo admission all year long! Discover all of the benefits and choose the plan that’s right for you.
Member Portal
Yearly Members can access their membership account details online through our Member Portal. Information such as membership level, expiration date, and card ID can all be found on the portal. Members can also purchase their membership renewal and member-discounted tickets through their portal account.
Members, click the button above to access your portal account. If it’s your first time, you’ll need to activate your account. Enter your Visual ID and email associated with your membership to begin your activation. Your Visual ID number is located on the back of your membership card. You can also request your number by emailing us at zoo@elmwoodparkzoo.org.
Discounted Admission for Military Members
Active duty members of the United States Armed Forces receive free admission. Their companions receive $10.95 per person admission. Service veterans receive $10.95 admission. A valid Military or Veterans ID and one other form of photo ID is required.
*When you arrive, please show your ID at the admission window. Discounted companion tickets of $10.95 must be purchased onsite at the admission window the day of your visit. Discounted tickets are not available for veterans companions.
Discounted Admission for First Responders
First responders receive free admission. Current police officers, firefighters, and EMT personnel must show valid credentials at the admission counter. Fire and police badges, identification cards, and responders in uniform are accepted only if accompanied by photo ID.
Ticket Exchange
We understand that plans can change. If you need to update the date or time of your visit, you can do so online with our Ticket Exchange service. There are two methods to access our exchange webstore.
Confirmation Email
Find the confirmation email from your original ticket purchase in your inbox. At the top, click the “Change My Event Date/Time” button. You’ll be sent to our webstore where your current tickets will be listed, and you’ll have the option to select a new date and time. Re-enter your contact information and complete the free transaction. A new confirmation email with your updated tickets will be sent to you.

Use the button below to get started. You’ll need to find your tickets in the system by providing either your order confirmation number or a ticket barcode and your email address. Once your tickets are located you can follow the same steps listed above to complete your exchange.
Please note, you can change your event date and time up until the minute it is scheduled to begin, but you are limited to two event changes total. Exchange is only available for daily zoo admission and select special events. Refunds are not available.
Ticket and Return Policy
Once received by purchase or on a complimentary basis, tickets are non-refundable, non-transferable and void if changed. Tickets that are reasonably suspect to have been transferred or altered may not be honored. Tickets are not for resale except where specifically allowed by contract. Any unauthorized resale shall render that Ticket null and void. If you would like to cancel a ticket, you must notify the zoo immediately by phone at 800.652.4143 x 222, at which time the email confirmation or tickets shall become void. The zoo is under no obligation to issue refunds where a ticket has been cancelled, however refunds may be made entirely at the discretion of the zoo. In rare circumstances beyond the control of the zoo, a ticket may be cancelled. The zoo will endeavor to notify the patron as soon possible. Should the zoo have to cancel a ticket, the purchaser will be refunded all the funds paid to the zoo for that ticket.
Photography Policy
Elmwood Park Zoo reserves the right to photograph, videotape, film and/or record its visitors while on zoo grounds for the purposes of displaying, advertising, promoting and publicizing the zoo. By entering into Elmwood Park Zoo, you acknowledge the zoo’s right to use guests’ likenesses, actions or statements in any live recorded audio, video or photographic display, without guests’ further authorization or compensation. The commercial use of any photography, video recordings and film taken by guests is strictly prohibited without the expressed consent of the Elmwood Park Zoo.
Assumption of Risk
Visitors to the zoo acknowledge and assume the risk of loss, injury or damage relating to the use of this facility and the attractions herein.
Guests with Service Animals
Guests requiring service animals are permitted to enter the zoo. Their permission is at the zoo’s discretion based on guidelines set forth by the ADA. Service animals are not pets; they are trained to perform specific tasks for their owner. Service animals entering the zoo must remain on a leash or a harness at all times and may not be left unattended. Guests are required to clean-up all defecation from their service animals while at the zoo. Guests with service animals must check in at the admissions counter before gaining entry. Guests may request a free membership card for their service animal for repeat visits. Because of animal safety concerns, service animals are not permitted in Harmony Hideaway, the barn and on the giraffe and bison feeding decks. Zoo staff will be happy to work with guests that wish to enter these areas to make arrangements to accommodate their visit.
Rules and Regulations
- Elmwood Park Zoo is a smoke-free and vape-free environment.
- Do not throw objects into exhibits, or tap and bang on exhibit glass. This will frighten or upset the animals.
- Do not feed the animals. Our animals are on strict diets in order to maintain their health and the wrong food can make them ill.
- Do not attempt to enter any exhibits or attempt to climb, sit on, lean into or over any exhibit barricade.
- The Zoo does not issue rain checks or refunds for any reason.
- Skateboards, scooters, bikes, skates, firearms, balloons, and balls are not permitted inside the zoo.
- Outside alcohol is not permitted inside the zoo.
