We are excited to announce our new little bundle of joy!
On Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 at 7:20 pm, one of our white-faced saki monkeys, Alexandria (Lexi), gave birth to her second child. Big sister, Clementine and dad, Opus are just as excited to have another addition to the troop. Lexi is keeping her baby right at her side and cuddled close. The baby’s sex has not been determined yet, as animal care staff are letting Lexi exhibit her natural maternal behaviors. Be sure to follow us on social media for regular updates and stop by the Wildlife Lodge to say hello to mom and baby on your next visit!
If you visit our saki monkeys, keep an eye out for these things as LeXI moves throughout her exhibit:
– tiny hands and feet in Lexi’s fur
– a tail wrapped around the back of Lexi
– the baby’s head nestled under Lexi’s belly
