BIRTHDAY Attendant
Location: Elmwood Park Zoo

Pay Rate: $14.00/hour
Reports To: Guest Services Management Team
Schedule: Must be able to primarily work weekends and holidays. Schedule varies and is dependent on the event calendar, weather, and guest attendance.
EPZ Team Member Responsibilities:
- Facilitating birthday parties and similar programs
- Responsible for coordinating activities and managing a party
- Responsible for effective setup and breakdown of parties
- Facilitating guest entry
- Responding to guest questions
- Assisting all guests in a proactive and pleasant manner
- Assisting with seasonal and special event programming
- Managing crowds
Essential Responsibilities:
- Must be at least 14 years of age
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to frequently move objects weighing up to 30 pounds
- Comfortable being exposed to cold and hot weather conditions
- Friendly disposition
- Must be comfortable working around children
- Ability to maintain alertness and attentiveness to safety and proper
procedures - Good verbal communication skills
- Meets the needs and expectations of the role, as per business needs
- Must be able to pass background and child abuse clearances
- Two forms of official valid identification are required
Qualification Requirements:
- Similar previous experience preferred
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain composed and attentive when interacting with the public
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and/or move 20-50 pounds
- Comfortable being exposed to cold and hot weather conditions
- Ability to work well within a team and independently
- Must be able to pass background and child abuse clearances
- Two forms of official valid identification are required
