NORRISTOWN, Pa. (July 2, 2026) — There’s never been a better time to discover what’s new at Elmwood Park Zoo.

Just in time for the Fourth of July holiday, Elmwood Park Zoo has officially introduced three new species to its growing animal family. Guests can now visit Reza and Kasper, two Pallas’s cats; Caleb and Inari, two red foxes; and Asher, a gray fox, all now on exhibit for the public.

The highly anticipated arrivals debut during one of the Zoo’s biggest weekends of the year, highlighted by free admission for all guests on Saturday, July 4, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with extended holiday hours made possible through the Zoo’s America 250 initiative.

“The Fourth of July has become one of our favorite traditions at Elmwood Park Zoo because it gives us the opportunity to welcome thousands of guests through our gates at no cost while celebrating our community,” said Al Zone, President and CEO of Elmwood Park Zoo. “This year is even more exciting as we introduce three incredible new species that offer our guests even more opportunities to connect with wildlife. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning to see what’s new, there’s something for everyone to discover.”

The new exhibits continue the Zoo’s commitment to creating immersive experiences that inspire curiosity and conservation.

Native to the grasslands of Central Asia, Pallas’s cats are among the world’s oldest and most distinctive wild cat species, recognized for their dense coats, expressive faces, and incredible adaptations to harsh mountain climates.

The Zoo’s red foxes are one of North America’s most recognizable mammals, known for their intelligence, agility, and playful personalities. Guests may spot Caleb and Inari exploring their habitat, climbing, digging, or investigating new enrichment throughout the day.

Rounding out the trio is Asher, the Zoo’s gray fox. Unlike most canids, gray foxes are accomplished climbers, capable of scaling trees using their strong claws and flexible ankles—a unique adaptation that helps them hunt, escape predators, and rest above the forest floor.

The new arrivals are part of a larger expansion of animal experiences across the Zoo, giving guests even more reasons to visit throughout the summer season.

During the Fourth of July celebration, visitors can also enjoy live entertainment, animal encounters, keeper chats, food and beverage offerings, and family-friendly activities throughout the day. In addition to free admission, the Zoo will remain open until 8 p.m., offering one of the longest operating days of the year.

Guests looking to make the Zoo a year-round tradition can also take advantage of the Zoo’s 40% Off Membership Sale, available through July 8. Membership includes unlimited daytime admission, exclusive member benefits, discounts on events and programs, and more.
