Concessions Attendant
Location: Elmwood Park Zoo
Department: Guest Services
Experience: Some Experience Required – Cash Handling & Food Service Preferred
Title: Concessions Attendant – Part Time – Seasonal
Reports to: Guest Services Management Team
Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Schedule varies and is dependent on the event calendar, weather, and guest attendance.
- To uphold the Zoo’s mission of fostering an appreciation of wildlife and the environment that will inspire active participation in conservation
- Assist Management in ensuring safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all areas of the Zoo’s operation
- Follow and adhere to all policies and procedures for their specific department and the Zoo at all times
- Creates as professional, prepared, and presentable work environment
- Operate zoo concessions, including food and bar services
- Ensures a clean and sanitary work environment
- Able to keep a balanced cash drawer, collecting payments and providing correct
change, and operating a point of sale system - Responsible for setup, operation, and breakdown of bars in accordance with the
instructions provided by the Guest Services Management - Comfortability working under pressure, and with large crowds
- Enforcing responsible alcohol management practices, such as verifying age &
identification - Creating a welcoming environment and providing excellent service to all guests.
in accordance with the standards of the department - Responsible for responding to guest inquiries and directing guests to appropriate parties within the Zoo for further questions
- The ability to multitask
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior food service and/or bar experience preferred
- RAMP Certification preferred
- Able to lift and carry 50+ pounds
- Must be able to work inside or outside in a variety of weather conditions
- Comfortability working in a team and helping others
- Meets the needs and expectations of the role, as per business needs
- Must be able to pass background and child abuse clearances
- Two forms of official valid identification are required
